Lectra Kaledo Weave & Knit
Lectra Kaledo Weave and Knit are programs I learned to work with during the fourth year of my study. The program was used during the Digital Knit/Weave course in which I learned to design weaves and knits. Both subjects were given seperately and eacht had 4 lessons.
During the Weave lessons I learned to work with Kaledo Weave. I made weave designs with different types of bonds in it like chevron, twill, plain and a herringbone bond that I developed myself.

During the knit lessons I learned to work with Kaledo Knit. I made knit designs with different knitting techniques in it. The endresult of this technical knit was an Aran. Other technical testdesigns I made were cableknits and lace designs. Another design I made was a jacquard design with a cloud pattern. This was made with a picture stamp function.

It is possible to give the designs different yarns, that fit the design and purpose of the design the best. This makes the endresult look very realistic. Examples are cotton yarns that look more basic, heather yarns that are multicolor and look softer and wool yarns that look more fluffy and soft.
Lectra Modaris
Another Lectra program I learned to work with during my study is Lectra Modaris. This was part of the CAD course I followed during my minor Fashiontechnology in Ghent. During the course, I made patterns and variants for different skirts. I started the course with a basic, straight skirt and the grading techniques. In the end I had to create a graded skirt with waistband, zipper, slit, pockets and a lining. It is a very useful program for patterndrafting as it is possible to transfer it to other Lectra program for example for cuttingplans.
